    Stephen J. Yuter

Vice President of Contracts, Risk Management & Compliance, BrainGu

As part of the BrainGu team, Stephen J. Yuter collaborated to secure the company’s largest contract to date — a $125 million single-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity — with the Air Force.

This contract is impactful because it is focused on mission outcomes and was developed on the basis of commercial terms, showcasing BrainGu’s flexibility and innovation.

This win, along with a newly established Value Added Reseller strategic partnership, expanded BrainGu’s offerings across federal, state and commercial sectors and resulted in a 68% net new growth of its contracts portfolio.

“Stephen’s impact goes far beyond managing contracts; his collaborative spirit permeates throughout BrainGu,” said Cos DiMaggio, president of BrainGu. “As a trusted advisor to BrainGu’s C-suite, Stephen provides invaluable insights on navigating complex government, legislative and intellectual property matters, enabling us to align our strategies with the evolving regulatory landscape and recalibrating our business priorities effectively.”

    Why Watch

In 2024, Yuter is focused on developing a robust export compliance program for international growth and driving commercial business through new enterprise and multitenant software agreements. His team is leveraging new strategic relationships to enhance BrainGu’s market reach with a strong solutions-focused sales strategy and gaining operational efficiencies with an evolving business operations infrastructure.

“I am a strong believer in embracing the uncomfortable,” Yuter said. “I advise my team, peers and mentees to step out of their comfort zones to maximize learning, progression and ultimately, success. In the dynamic space in which we operate, placing yourself in challenging positions and conquering unfamiliar aspects widens one’s knowledge base and creates opportunities to grow and thrive.”

Fun fact: Yuter’s passion for lifelong learning and exploring new challenges led him to embrace the social side of the GovCon community. He took on leadership roles in industry associations like NCMA and ACT-IAC, taught adjunct university courses and spoke at various forums. These activities helped Yuter expand his professional network, develop strong relationships and explore best practices through shared experiences.
