Through strategic wins and acquisitions, BlueHalo is rapidly growing to become a next-generation defense technology prime. During her five years at BlueHalo, Meredith Bussey helped lead the successful integration of more than 12 companies, many of which lacked dedicated contracts teams themselves. This growth required Bussey to triple the size of her team within a year.
By focusing on training, mentorship and hands-on experience, she empowered her team to lead in proposal management, negotiations and contract management, significantly contributing to BlueHalo’s overall success and growth. For example, Bussey led an important pursuit, spending a year developing BlueHalo’s proposal strategy and negotiating a $1.4 billion contract with the government in less than five days.

In 2024, Bussey and her team are focused on deepening partnerships with business leaders to integrate contracts and business development strategies, consistently finding innovative solutions to reduce risk and protect the bottom line. By actively collaborating with customers, BlueHalo continues to create unique contracting solutions through proposals and negotiations with a strong emphasis on contract terms and conditions.
To further enhance skills and cohesion, Bussey organized a three-day offsite in Dallas, where her team focused on best practices in proposals, contract management and negotiations and set strategic goals for the coming year.

Fun fact: People are often surprised to learn that Bussey had an adventurous childhood, growing up riding motorcycles and go-karts with her dad. She also raced slalom and downhill skiing, all while juggling a love for volleyball, soccer and basketball.
