Vice President of DOD Sales, Iron Bow

One of Rob Watson’s biggest achievements this year was the team at Iron Bow joining forces with Peraton to implement the $2.8 billion Special Operations Forces IT Enterprise Contract (3 Enterprise Operations & Maintenance task order). This contract aims to deliver advanced IT solutions and network services to the U.S. Special Operations Command, including its component commands, theater special operations commands, deployed forces, CIO/J6 and end-users over an 8-year period.

“Special operations forces play a crucial role in safeguarding U.S. national security, operating in some of the world’s most challenging environments,” Watson said. “I am especially proud that we have the opportunity to support our dedicated warfighters by providing next-generation solutions tailored to our customers’ unique requirements.”

    Why Watch

In 2024, Watson’s team is heavily focused on solving problems by simplifying complex issues, enabling agility and data-driven decisions at a cohesive pace. It’s dedicated to driving modernization and digital transformation by thoroughly understanding the underlying challenges faced by DOD. The team is also seeing tremendous momentum in reducing technical debt and implementing solutions that align directly with the strategic outcomes identified by key DOD stakeholders.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a team and organization that is directly driving key areas of modernization and transformation within the DOD,” Watson said. “The way the U.S. military understands events, makes decisions, and takes action is evolving rapidly to prepare for the future of warfare. We are helping to replace inflexible, manual and slow methods with agile, automated and efficient solutions to effectively deter dynamic threats.”

Fun fact: Watson has four daughters, all aged 8 and under. “Being a proud girl dad keeps me constantly busy and drives me to stay active and physically fit,” he said. “They inspire me every day, and one way I keep up with them is through running. It’s a great way to stay in shape and clear my mind, and it also mirrors the agility and energy I strive to bring to my professional life. Balancing work and family is a challenging but rewarding experience, and my daughters ensure that I stay on my toes ⏤ talk about agile missions! Their energy and enthusiasm keep me motivated and engaged, both at home and in my career.”
