    Kevin Smiley, ASRC Federal

    Kevin Smiley

Vice President & General Manager, Defense & Intel Operating Group, ASRC Federal

Kevin Smiley’s team of over 1,400 professionals supports the Infrastructure Operations Support Division, the largest division within the ASRC Federal’s defense and intel operating group. They also serve their customers with excellence and dedication at locations throughout the United States as well as remote locations from the North Slope of Alaska to the Hawaiian Islands.

“Our team’s work is the backbone for critical systems supporting the key missions of our Department of Defense customers, including the armed forces, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Department of Homeland Security,” Smiley said.

Smiley cites the expansion of ASRC Federal’s infrastructure operations services to the MDA as one of the company’s biggest achievements in this market. Specifically, the agency announced late in 2023 that ASRC Federal would provide 24/7/365 maintenance, repair and sustainment services for the facilities, real property and building equipment at the Missile Defense Complex and Cantonment area in Fort Greely, Alaska.

    Why Watch

Smiley is enthusiastic about the new and additional depth of capabilities the company now offers customers through its recent acquisitions of Broadleaf, Inc. and the supply chain business of SAIC. The acquisitions, which also brought strong customer relationships, have opened opportunities that will take ASRC Federal to entirely new customers while also enhancing the support provided to existing ones, Smiley said.

“We’re looking at continuing infrastructure ops support and new capabilities such as aircraft maintenance and training support,” he said.

Jason Nichols, president of the defense and intel operating group at ASRC Federal, said Smiley’s “steadfast dedication to his customers’ missions, coupled with decades of experience in the DOD market, make him an invaluable leader.”

“His strategic insight and deep understanding of customer needs inspire and guide his team,” Nichols said. “These exceptional qualities have been instrumental in ASRC Federal’s success and foster a culture of excellence across the organization.”

Fun fact: An Air Force veteran, Smiley’s focus on people and community carries over into his work as a mentor and promoter of professional opportunities for veterans as well as his outside work as the former Alaska junior Olympic commissioner for the Amateur Softball Association (now USA Softball). “I still enjoy coaching both youth softball and baseball,” he said.
