Chairman & CEO, Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc.

For the past three years, Robert A. Geckle, Jr. served as the chairman and CEO of Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. With a focus on U.S. government customers, he leads the company’s multiple lines of business, which include space systems and small satellite manufacturing, helicopters, fixed wing military aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, and communications equipment.

Geckle said one of his greatest recent achievements was watching the company’s explosive growth both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Over the past few years, Airbus U.S. has seen a 269% growth rate, and we are on track to pass $1 billion in total revenue as a company next year,” he said. “No doubt, our success is due to the extraordinary efforts of the men and women who make up our team. I am proud to work alongside them day-in and day-out.”

    Why Watch

In 2024, Geckle said his team is focused on increasing its U.S. industrial footprint, expanding the use of autonomous, unmanned systems to new markets and continuing to deliver reliable military aircraft and helicopters to its customers. Airbus U.S. is also expected to launch its first program of Arrow450 satellite buses later this year.

“Our future is bright,” he said. “And I’m excited to lead this company far into the future.”
