CRDF Global has added Chris Fall, current vice president for applied science at MITRE, to its board of directors.

“Chris’s background in the interconnected domains of science, technology and energy and his experience with managing the emerging opportunities, threats, and strategies associated with these fields brings enormous insight and value to our board,” said CRDF Global CEO Mike Dignam.

“His technical expertise, international leadership experience and alignment with our vision will serve as a powerful asset as CRDF Global advances our solutions at the nexus of global security and development.”

At MITRE, Fall is responsible for leading research and development in emerging technology domains and for overseeing five MITRE Labs innovation centers in life, physical, and health sciences; transportation; economics; acquisition; and enterprise strategy.

Before joining MITRE in 2021, Fall was the acting director of the Energy Department’s Advanced Research Project Agency – Energy, and then as the Senate-confirmed director of the Office of Science.

Before the Energy Department, Fall served in several senior management roles at the Office of Naval Research, including acting chief scientist, over the course of seven years.

“Over the course of my career, I’ve witnessed the impact of CRDF Global’s missions worldwide and its vision in action,” Fall said. “I’m honored to support the CRDF Global team and look forward to shaping opportunities to collaborate through science to create a more healthy, safe and sustainable world.”
