    Sundhar Rajan, Casepoint

The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 28, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.

Next is Sundhar Rajan, CIO/CISO at Casepoint, and finalist in the Public & Private Company Chief Information Security Officer category. Here, he shares key achievements, focus areas going forward, career advice and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2023?

Team Casepoint achieved the distinction of getting our Casepoint SAAS DOD Il6 certified, which a few organizations have accomplished today. The team also ensured our Casepoint SAAS continued to be FEDRAMP, STATERAMP, SOC2/3, and DOD Il5 certified across multiple cloud environments. This is a distinctive accomplishment in the SAAS industry.

This proves the teams’ maturity regarding cloud security, cloud infrastructure, application security, secure coding practices, cryptographic standards, IDP standards, transport level security, data encryption, and various compliance requirements. These unique achievements allowed Casepoint to be a choice across various GOV agencies and Fortune 100 companies. These achievements made the onboarding process for security/vendor risk assessments easier for our clients who want to use us, resulting in faster onboarding times.

What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the mission?

Working on integrating Casepoint securely with new AI capability, quantum-resistant cryptography, new NIST and FIDO standards integrations, using GPUS in computing more efficiently, and cloud security.

What is your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?

Career suggestion, if I can suggest: Figure out your passion, keep learning.
