    Elizabeth Wayt

Director of Environmental, Social, Governance, Booz Allen Hamilton

Elizabeth Wayt advances Booz Allen’s environmental, social and governance priorities as part of the firm’s VoLT (Velocity, Leadership, Technology) strategy of rapid growth. Her role not only involves integrating ESG initiatives, such as diverse hiring and community resilience, into every aspect of the business, but she also plays a crucial role in accelerating innovation.

How she balances it all: Information and collaboration.

“One of the things I’m most proud of is our intentional and data-driven approach to ESG. It’s improved our business performance, promoted sustainability, and enhanced our ability to attract and retain top-tier talent,” Wayt said. “What’s more, our ESG strategy is seamlessly integrated with VoLT. This makes us even more effective in how we do business, drive positive change, and steward wellbeing for our employees, clients, and communities.”

    Why Watch

Looking ahead, Booz Allen remains dedicated to future-proofing and sustainability.

“As we steer through continuous societal and technological transformations, including advancements in artificial intelligence and quantum computing, our focus is on equipping our people for the future,” Wayt said. “We are investing in technical experience groups (TXGs) in key areas like AI and cybersecurity, offering programs, mentorship, and an array of resources for professional development. Our commitment to lifelong learning is a testament to our proactive approach to ensuring sustainability across all our operations.

Wayt has seen Booz Allen’s employees apply their formidable skills and passion to complex challenges, from helping clients transform their missions and build resilience to bringing STEM education into underserved communities. She is excited to see how they tackle what’s next as Booz Allen continues to grow.

“Our ESG principles are not an afterthought but are ingrained in our identity,” she said. “Take sustainability for instance. With the recent endorsement of new science-based greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets, we’re scrutinizing every aspect of our operations to pinpoint efficiencies and opportunities to mitigate our long-term impact. This approach positions us to lead our industry into the future. At Booz Allen, ESG is built into who we are, not bolted on. We’re not just preparing for the future; we’re shaping it.”
