The U.S. Space Force’s Space Rapid Capabilities awarded BlueHalo a $1.4 billion contract for the Satellite Communications Augmentation Resource program in 2022.
Last September, Mary Clum and her team completed a successful demonstration of the Multi-band Software Defined Antenna tiles that will be deployed on BlueHalo’s BADGER product as part of the SCAR program, marking a critical milestone to validate the technology and deliver a revolutionary augmentation to the nation’s satellite command and control capabilities.
“I am so incredibly proud of our team’s innovation and dedicated focus on meeting our nation’s critical satellite communication infrastructure needs and maintaining our strategic advantage in space,” Clum said.
Few know that Clum has completed her sixth half marathon. Even with a busy job, she enjoys using early mornings for herself to think clearly and focus on her goals, following a specific plan to succeed.
“Running has many parallels to the ‘race’ we’re on as BlueHalo continues to transform the future of global defense,” Clum said. “The preparation and the work required to accomplish your goal can be grueling . . . and sometimes painful! But the joy of crossing the finish line — or delivering a technology that will save soldiers’ lives or transform our national security — is worth it all.”

Aside from BlueHalo’s groundbreaking work as part of the SCAR program, Clum and her team are focused on developing and delivering new innovations focused on space, C-UAS and autonomous systems, and electronic warfare and cyber, by applying the company’s expertise in AI across these mission areas.
To support these efforts, they recently established an Advanced Innovations division to foster future growth through new innovations. This team fosters collaboration and ignites the flame of ingenuity within BlueHalo, creating pathways to transition innovative ideas into solutions.
