Steve Padgett
Vice President of Project/Program Management, Space Operating Group, ASRC Federal
Steve Padgett has worked with ASRC Federal’s NASA customer for over 25 years, where he serves as vice president of project and program management. He’s also the senior program director for NASA’s Program Analysis and Control V contract. In his role, he oversees a division of ASRC Federal’s space operating group as well as a broad scope of services to support NASA in planning and managing missions, programs and projects.
Under Padgett, the ASRC Federal team contributed to the success of several NASA flagship missions, including the development and launch of the James Webb telescope, outreach for the Hubble Space Telescope and the new Roman Space Telescope. His team at PAAC touches every major mission at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt and the Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
Padgett supports ASRC Federal’s diversity, inclusion, employee engagement and career development initiatives at all organizational levels.

In 2024, Padgett will keep fostering teamwork and growth within ASRC Federal’s management, focusing on developing leaders and building strong relationships with customers through a new project manager training program. Inspired by the company’s Iñupiat heritage, this program aims to prepare the next generation of leaders with a focus on space projects.
Padgett supports his community through his contract’s many outreach activities such as Christmas in April, Casey Cares, American Heart Association, March of Dimes and Donor’s Choose. Earlier in life, Padgett was a kicker for East Carolina University’s D-1 football team.
