Robin Menefee
Pricing Director, AMERICAN SYSTEMS
In her second year with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Robin Menefee’s biggest recent achievement was successfully assimilating into and leading a pricing team that helped the company exceed gross bookings targets for two consecutive years.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ pricing team is lean in size and dedicated to delivering competitive and compliant pricing. The team is composed of seasoned professionals who look holistically at pricing strategy and collaborate with the company’s business development and operations executives to help secure new contracts at win rates that exceed industry norms.
“In the dynamic and competitive environment of today’s federal contracting business, continuous improvement and excellence in pricing service delivery is both front-facing to external customers and internally-facing to the business areas the pricing function supports,” said Peter Whitfield, AMERICAN SYSTEMS CFO. “Robin’s ability to partner with Business Development, Contracts, Finance, and Recruiting is bringing new synergies within AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ pricing spectrum.”
Why Watch
In 2024, the pricing team focus on corporate goals and scaling the department to support AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ continued revenue growth, increased volume of proposals and strong win rates as a top mission essential and information engineering firm.
Menefee believes it’s important to lead her team toward goals, make improvements and work well with others. It’s also crucial to sometimes step back and help team members grow. This help could be improving how things are done, sharing more data, teaching each other, talking about plans and giving advice.
“In my personal life, I participate weekly in an international mastermind group focused on personal development, growth, and accountability,” she said. “It’s been a joy to discover synergy between personal and professional life, as AMERICAN SYSTEMS has similar focuses that are foundational in the company’s culture of accountability, continuous quality improvement, commitment to ethics and maintaining a culture of trust.”
