    Bruce Caswell

    President & CEO, Maximus

Maximus entered 2024 with strong momentum after a successful 2023 marked by 7.1% organic revenue growth to $4.9 billion and a record backlog of $20.7 billion. Bruce Caswell credits the company’s leadership team and nearly 45,000 employees for the focused execution that delivered these impressive accomplishments.

In 2023, Maximus broadened its services to include helping veterans, assisting millions of student loan borrowers with their repayments, and ensuring continuous Medicaid coverage for Americans by reevaluating their eligibility. The company also deepened its technology capabilities with new solutions incorporating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.

During his tenure as Maximus CEO, Caswell and the Maximus leadership team have focused on employees with progressively enhanced health and wellbeing benefits, more options for career advancement, six new employee resource groups and updating the company’s tuition reimbursement program.

“We’re committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where difference is valued and celebrated,” he said. “I’m proud of the dedication, hard work, and commitment from every one of our employees. It sets the foundation of everything we do, which is exemplified by our mission of Moving People Forward.”

    Why Watch

The future for Maximus is defined by the three pillars of its strategy — the future of health, customer services digitally enabled, and advanced technologies for modernization and transformation.

“We’ve aligned our organization to meet the needs of the government customers we serve,” Caswell said. “Our breadth of expertise enables us to intimately understand the unique challenges facing agencies, at the federal, state, and global levels. We use that experience to design solutions to ensure our customers meet their mission and deliver results that build public trust in government.”

To kick off the year, Maximus announced a trio of new leaders on the federal team across health, defense and civilian. Additionally, the company is evolving its technology strategy as a growth driver with the addition of Derrick Pledger as its new chief digital & information officer.

Caswell’s leadership extends past the boardroom and into the community. He’s the chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and serves on the board of the Greater Washington Partnership where he focuses on workforce development. He received the 2023 Technology Good Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America, National Capitol Area Council.

On top of all that, Caswell is chairman for this year’s Kidney Ball on March 16, held at the Anthem in Washington, D.C.

“I have a good friend and colleague who received a kidney transplant in 2013, and I want to continue bringing everyone’s attention to the National Kidney Foundation and all the good work that they do,” he said.
