Jennifer Felix
President & CEO, ASRC Federal
ASRC Federal’s largest acquisition was completed alongside its third largest, both of which successfully integrated exceptional teams with enhanced capabilities, according to Jennifer Felix. These teams achieved complex integrations into the company’s infrastructure and operations in a remarkably short time, significantly contributing to the company’s value. Key achievements included:
- The acquisition of Broadleaf, bringing in cybersecurity expertise and expanding the company’s involvement with the Army at APG and other locations.
- Acquiring SAIC’s Supply Chain Management and Logistics division, which introduced a new operating group and customer base to ASRC Federal.
- Onboarding over 2,400 new employees, further expanding the company’s workforce and capabilities.
ASRC Federal is advancing as an organization where employees can build their careers, as shown by being recognized as a Great Place to Work again. The company has also been commended for its support of veterans, being named to the Military Times Best for Vets list for the second consecutive year and honored as a Vets Indexes 5-Star Employer.
This year, ASRC Federal successfully transitioned a record number of employees across teams into new roles, a key part of their employee retention efforts. In many instances, the company has effectively retained employees even after their current programs concluded.
“I am extremely optimistic about our outlook in 2024 and am even more excited about the talented team we are building with a culture of continuous improvement and ingenuity, enabling us to deliver tremendous solutions for our customers and thrive long into the future, which is what is most critical for our 14,000 Inupiat shareholders who have placed trust in us to create a lasting business for the generations after them,” Felix said.
Why Watch:
In 2024, Felix and her team are working on creating new strategic offerings to use their recently acquired capabilities, aiming to expand into new markets and strengthen their position in existing ones. They’re developing processes and tools in collaboration with their CTO Centers of Excellence and HR team. This effort will enhance employee mobility and career growth opportunities across various business areas, facilitating knowledge transfer among different customer groups. Plans include launching a new HR/payroll/recruiting/development platform midyear, as well as new mobile apps and tools to improve communication and connectivity.
The company is acting on suggestions from the 2023 “Your Voice” survey to improve employee engagement. They will track the effectiveness of these actions to make sure they’re successful. Also, the company is launching a new program to train program managers better, helping them achieve the highest standards for customers.
Fun fact: Felix is an avid reader, usually going through a book at least every two weeks — she tends to read multiple books at once. “I particularly love anything related to human nature and psychology, but there are very few topics that don’t interest me,” she said.
