John Goodman
CEO, Accenture Federal Services
Generative AI and other disruptive technologies are moving at a breakneck pace, and Accenture Federal Services is constantly evolving to help clients seize the opportunity to use technology to make the country safe and life better for people, said John Goodman.
The company immediately recognized GenAI’s potential to deliver breakthrough outcomes for its clients, so it mobilized a 360-degree effort to meet the moment. It launched a Federal Generative AI Center of Excellence, where teams build state-of-the-art prototypes to anticipate client challenges and create Gen AI assets, including FedGPT, to deliver real value.
Goodman finds it thrilling to watch teams create prototypes, expand existing solutions and use AI to solve important problems for federal agencies. Accenture Federal Services is also using AI to improve how it works internally. Its work is guided by two main ideas: using AI responsibly to keep it fair and secure and having a clear plan for bringing products to market, which encourages the whole company to find innovative ways to achieve new things.
“You’ll often hear me say, ‘Ask for help when you need, give help when asked,'” Goodman said. “Everyone, no matter what their role and level, needs to feel seen, heard, and supported. I want everyone at the company to know that we have their back, so they can do their best work and be their authentic selves.”

Fun Fact: Goodman said his mother’s volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, which she continued into her 80s, instilled in him a strong desire to serve others. He likes to help organizations with a significant impact on their communities. He expressed his enthusiasm about recently joining the boards of Goodwill of Greater Washington and the Carlos Rosario School. “As a lifelong learner, I admire the missions of both organizations, which do incredible work to transform people’s lives through education and employment,” Goodman added.
