Systems Planning & Analysis, a global provider of advisory services for critical national security programs, has made organizational changes to improve its growth and improve customer service.
“Our rapid growth in 2023 in conjunction with our strategic plan led us to take a close look at our organizational structure to ensure we are properly positioned to execute our multiyear strategy,” said CEO Rich Sawchak.
SPA has reorganized into four divisions to better serve its customers:
- The Sea, Land, Air Division, under Senior Vice President Dave Duryea, serves Defense Department customers in the U.S. and Five Eyes countries. It features technology solutions like Cyber Assassin (information warfare analysis), ARCHER (model-based systems engineering) and GCAM (operations analysis).
- The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Interagency Division, led by Senior Vice President Amy Mijas, supports the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
- The Space & Intelligence Division, overseen by Senior Vice President Bruce Phillips, operates in Chantilly, Virginia; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and El Segundo, California. SPA recently welcomed Scott Thoden as a vice president, who has extensive experience in the intelligence community.
- The Strategic Division, led by Senior Vice President John Burton, focuses on the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs, the Air Force Sentinel Program, USSTRATCOM, and the Energy Department.
“I’m excited to lead our newly realigned and highly talented line organization to enable even greater successes for SPA in the future,” said SPA President Terry Benedict.
To support its growth and strategic goals, SPA plans to open an advanced analytics laboratory in 2024. This facility will offer state-of-the-art services to clients in a secure setting and is currently being built at SPA’s headquarters in Alexandria.
