Granicus has acquired SmartGov from Brightly Software, a Siemens company. A cloud-based solution for permitting, compliance and licensing, SmartGov serves hundreds of U.S. municipalities and state agencies by digitizing services for residents and streamlining processes for government staff.

This acquisition enhances Granicus’ offerings with cost-effective, scalable cloud solutions for a wide range of applications, integrating into the Government Experience Cloud platform. SmartGov improves digital services for government clients, linking permitting activities to a broader strategy for digital engagement, according to the company.

“As government progresses in its digital transformation to provide seamless, interconnected citizen experiences, Granicus remains dedicated to advancing our platform to make the creation, delivery, management and measurement of those interconnected experiences as intuitive as possible,” said Granicus CEO Mark Hynes.

SmartGov offers a digital platform that simplifies public transactions with government agencies, designed to automate and streamline staff administrative tasks. Its advanced workflows and configurations enable quicker and more efficient management of permitting, licensing and inspection processes, leading to faster processing times, better accuracy and increased satisfaction.
