    Wendy R. Anderson, Palantir Technologies

    Wendy R. Anderson

Senior Vice President of Federal & National Security, Palantir Technologies

Wendy R. Anderson predicts that in 2024, a major challenge for the public sector will be adopting and regulating artificial intelligence responsibly, especially in critical areas like defense, healthcare and finance. It’s crucial for government agencies to balance AI’s rapid advancement with strict ethical guidelines and oversight. The emphasis should be on using AI’s potential to improve services and results for citizens, while making sure it’s deployed safely, fairly and in harmony with societal values. This complex but essential task requires a strategic and thoughtful approach.

“Another challenge worth highlighting, certainly in the defense space, is the need to mobilize our industrial base in fresh, creative ways,” Anderson said. “It’s been 30 years since the Last Supper. As our CTO always says, Palantir wants to flip the script and go all in on expanding our missions by supporting and growing today’s nascent but inspiring defense tech ecosystem – what we call the First Breakfast.”

Akash Jain, president of the company’s USG business said Anderson’s “deep experience in the defense and public sector brings a unique lens to our USG business.”

“She skillfully bridges the gap between what commercial technology has to offer, and in practice, what government leaders need to ensure their organizations stay ahead,” he added. “Since joining, she has led teams across the USG business exceptionally well and represents Palantir on numerous business-critical policy issues nationally and internationally.”

    Why Watch

Anderson’s team actively commits to multiple critical missions in the public sector, with a keen eye on the evolving global security landscape. Recognizing the significant role of emerging technology in future conflicts, their central mission involves a dynamic partnership with the Defense Department. Palantir is also determined to keep innovating on the civil side, despite financial limitations. Aware of the budgetary challenges agencies face, the company’s goal is to implement advanced software solutions that streamline operations and highlight cost savings.

“After leaving DoD, I knew I wanted to be a part of a mission-driven team dedicated to strengthening American technological leadership globally, in service of our country’s national security objectives,” Anderson said. “I wanted to be a part of a group committed to actively supporting the USG and our allies, and one that would not ⏤ under any circumstances ⏤ sell that our technology to our adversaries. I wanted to be a part of something big impact and highly consequential. I’ve found all this, and more, at Palantir. I couldn’t be prouder to represent who we are and what we do.”
