Tara Romeo
Vice President of Public Sector, Experian
The Experian Public Sector team uses Experian data assets and company expertise in data management, modeling and AI/MI for unique government specific use cases. Accurate, timely and robust data assets are at the core of Experian’s appeal to government agencies.
Tara Romeo and her team deliver actionable insights through a range of services and platforms that provide support throughout the analytics lifecycle from data acquisition to model deployment and assessment. As part of the company’s evolution within the government sector, Experian has developed long term client engagements focused on model development and tailoring.
During the pandemic, the public sector team moved quickly into action helping agencies cope with the triple impact of a remote workforce, vastly increased demand for benefits and increased fraud attacks on government programs. Experian worked closely with agencies and integrators to stand up identity verification services to meet digital demand for new benefits like Pandemic Unemployment Assistance for the self-employed. While the pandemic has subsided, the move to digital government remains a priority and the public sector team continues to focus on adding security and trust to digital government interactions.
Why Watch
Romeo said the company’s continued commitment to innovation is evident from the investments made on research and development to strategic acquisitions and finally in its venture capital investments in leading edge start-up businesses.
“We have worked hard to expand the government market’s understanding of the potential breadth and depth of Experian as a data and technology partner,” she said. “We continue to focus on our strategy to expand solution sets in areas like income verification, alternative data, data sandboxes and explainable AI/MI (XAI). Our solutions and how we support agency missions has certainly evolved, and we’re excited at the prospect of what 2024 and beyond will bring for our clients and the government market. We have the added benefit of representing a company focused on innovation that drives inclusion of the underserved; we share in this worthy alignment with our government clients and prospects.”
