    Matt Apostolou

Vice President of Business Development – US Government, BlackSky

A top challenge for the space-based intelligence sector is integrating commercial solutions seamlessly and efficiently into government systems, programs and platforms. Overcoming those obstacles to integration, whether they’re policy-related, technical centered or contractual, is essential to realize the potential of commercial offerings in operational scenarios, Matt Apostolou said. Bringing these capabilities to bear in the near-term will provide distinct advantages in agility, performance and resilience to those who can overcome the impediments to integration.

    Why Watch

Looking ahead, BlackSky’s focus will be to work with the DOD and intelligence communities on bringing unique on-demand, high-cadence monitoring and automated analytics solutions to the surveillance, reconnaissance and tracking mission. The company will also continue to build upon its work in artificial intelligence and machine learning, bringing the power of automation to extremely data-intensive missions like broad area search and other mission areas ripe for innovation.

“Matt brings a refreshing optimism and energy to the entire BlackSky team,” said Andy Stephenson, senior vice president of global sales at BlackSky. “While he focuses on the U.S. Government side of the business, he brings his insights, experience and intelligence to the whole company. His perspective and natural collaborative style have been a catalyst in developing and encouraging a growth-oriented mindset within the organization and accelerating our journey towards scale.”
