Cameron Chehreh
Vice President & General Manager of Public Sector, Intel
This past year, Cameron Chehreh worked closely with customers across state, local, civilian and defense agencies to deliver better citizen service and keep ahead of near-peer adversaries. His team worked closely with customers to digitally transform and unlock the value of existing IT investments — all with a laser focus on the mission.
Chehreh has also been involved in several of Intel’s recent federal initiatives, including:
- Fostering the nation’s security, economic interests and semiconductor supply chain with Intel’s $20 billion investment in two leading-edge manufacturing facilities in Ohio.
- Helping the Defense Department leverage Intel solution architectures to optimize cyber interoperability and ROI in pivotal military programs such as the Cloud One platform and the Air Force’s Platform One software factory.
- Delivering multichip package prototypes created under the Heterogeneous Integrated Packaging program six quarters ahead of schedule. In partnership with the U.S. government and BAE, Intel reconfirmed its commitment to DOD’s mission to return the U.S. to a leading role in the microelectronics ecosystem.
Why Watch
In 2024, Chehreh and his team are heavily focused on continuing to drive market preeminence to reduce the worlds reliance on silicon and semiconductors from limited supply and rebalance the supply chain to the Western world.
His team has been working closely with public sector customers to help them achieve their modernization goals. They’re seeing a growing demand for processing power fueled by AI and the convergence of ubiquitous compute, connectivity, infrastructure and sensing. Intel is proud to be a leading contributor to the Siliconomy, a new era where an exponential leap in computing is foundational to the public sector mission — everything from modeling and simulation and AI at the edge to the future of citizen experience.
In addition, Chehreh’s team is heavily focused on introducing customers to the new AI PC and the possibility of AI everywhere. Intel is at the forefront of this technology innovation and has partnered with more than 100 ISVs who are optimizing their software for this new platform. They anticipate the public sector will benefit from enhanced capabilities in the areas of video collaboration, productivity and security.
“One of my mentors, Rear Admiral Tony Cothron (retired), encouraged me to ‘work at the speed of relevance,’ a term used in the intelligence community and the military intelligence brigades,” Chehreh said. “To me this means that innovation can’t happen in a vacuum. Instead, innovation needs to be closely aligned with the requirements of our federal customers and the goals of the mission.”
Fun Fact: Chehreh was a professional musician in his early career.
