Zachary Jones
CTO, Altamira
Zachary Jones became the Altamira CTO with Altamira’s acquisition of Virginia Systems & Technology, Inc. in early 2023. He quickly got to work bringing a consistent and innovative technical direction to the combined company. Jones took 2023 to establish an IR&D process and find technical synergies between the two companies that has driven the recent contract wins in multi-INT orchestration and AI/ML result assurance.
These wins have expanded the prime work that Altamira is performing within the IC and further establishes Altamira as a strong analysis, analytic and engineering competitor in these spaces.
Jones views his biggest achievement as putting together a technical staff that has helped drive solutions for the government.
“Putting a high quality team together is the foundation of any good solution,” he said. “Good people will always find a way to drive innovation and technology through their natural curiosity, especially when they are surrounded by other top talent.”
Why Watch
In 2024, Jones will look to build upon the foundation that he established in 2023 by facilitating employee idea expansion through company IR&D and solutions for the government.
“What differentiates Altamira from other contractors is our tight coupling of analysts and engineers which allows us to identify intelligence trends and invest in them well before our competitors.” Jones said. “The goal is to have all employees involved in this process so anyone in the company can present an idea that could lead to our next technological leap or government solution.”
Jones will also continue to drive technical solutions as Altamira expands into new markets, while continuing to support IC and NASIC customers. The company is set up to grow in 2024 with concentration on space, missile warning, SIGINT exploitation and AI/ML.
“Great technical skills are a given for a CTO,” said Jane Chappell, Altamira CEO. “Zach’s technical skills combined with people skills, strong mission knowledge and understanding of customer priorities have been the catalyst in his leadership, while also driving improved mission results and business growth.”
