    Bob Ritchie, SAIC

    Bob Ritchie

    CTO, SAIC

Bob Ritchie leads over 4,000 software engineers in providing technical direction and expertise in support of SAIC’s defense, intelligence and federal civilian customers’ modernization efforts.

Ritchie is responsible for the strategic roadmap and investments for the software practice, supporting customer programs with DevSecOps teams and leading SAIC in the areas of cloud-native development, application modernization, agile development and intelligent software.

Under his leadership, SAIC was awarded the $1.3 billion T-Cloud contract with the Treasury Department under which the company will enable the rapid and secure adoption of a modern and cost-effective approach to utilizing and consuming data in the cloud. Another notable success is the development of Cloud Based Command and Control for the Air Force Advanced Battle Management System, the world’s first Secret Releasable Cloud that delivers mission outcomes for the U.S. and its allies.

    Why Watch

In 2024, Ritchie and his team will focus on continued innovation and expansion of global, secure multicloud adoption across the entire federal government. Another focus will be the integration of digital engineering and DevSecOps to provide robust software-defined across IT/OT and embedded systems.

Ritchie is committed to pushing the envelope on cloud to the tactical edge with secure and resilient zero trust network architecture. His team will be working on the operationalization of AI to improve mission outcomes and digital experience for the federal government.

“Any day you can learn something new is a good day; any day you can teach something new to someone else is a great day,” he said. “If you never stop learning and sharing what you’ve learned with others, you can always look back on a lifetime full of great days!”

Fun Fact: Ritchie played Division I basketball in both the Big East and ACC and has an encyclopedic memory of TV and movie quotes.
