SAIC has named Kara Gerhardt Ross as its new chief communications officer. She was previously president of international, executive and policy communications at UPS Global Corporate Communications.

At SAIC, Ross will oversee all aspects of corporate communications, including internal and external messaging, digital content, brand reputation and communication strategies.

“Kara is a best-in-class communications expert who is well poised to help lead us into the next phase of our growth strategy,” said SAIC Chief Human Resources Officer Michelle O’Hara. “Her strategic insights, knowledge and extensive communications capabilities will be an asset as we move forward.”

Ross brings over 25 years of experience in senior corporate affairs and communications roles across public and private sectors. Her background includes leading UPS Global Communication teams in areas like international communications, social media, public policy, and executive media affairs.

She also managed clients in technology, aerospace and transportation at boutique PR firms and oversaw marketing and communications at Fortune 500 companies.

“In every job I have strived to make lives better through policy, actions and prose,” Ross said. “With the potential to play an even more meaningful role in enriching people’s lives through SAIC technology advancements, I’m thrilled to join the team and build and expand our communications and storytelling efforts as we partner with the government on the future’s most pressing innovations.”
