Navistar Defense LLC has promoted Michael Gray to chief growth officer, effective immediately.

In his new role, Gray will continue overseeing the company’s comprehensive growth strategy. His responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, such as partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion. He will also maintain oversight of government affairs, marketing and business development organizations.

“I am excited to have Mike’s talent and extensive company growth experience in the government contract industry for the Navistar Defense team,” said Navistar Defense CEO Ted Wright. “His proven track record will be invaluable as we continue our growth in our traditional tactical wheeled vehicle market, as well as in contract manufacturing and battlefield systems.”

Gray has been with Navistar Defense for over three years, contributing to several cornerstone programs for the company. His work spans the U.S. Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command, international tactical vehicle and commercial manufacturing communities.

Before joining Navistar Defense, he was the senior director and account manager for SAIC in the Detroit Arsenal Portfolio, where he worked on several cornerstone programs.

Gray retired from the U.S. Army as an acquisition professional. His assignments included roles with the PM Stryker Brigade Combat Team and Future Combat Systems. He held operational positions at various levels, ranging from brigade to platoon, and served in commissioned, warrant officer and noncommissioned officer capacities.
