J&J Worldwide Services has transitioned Operations and Maintenance Services Supporting the Defense Health Agency Program for Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

J&J won the 4-year contract through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District in December. The base period of performance started Jan. 15 and supports the hospital and all associated outlying areas, additional facilities and incidental ancillary support services.

“J&J is excited to have the opportunity to serve the Fort Belvoir community and expand the Healthcare & Medical Solutions we provide within the National Capital Region, which includes our current work at Walter Reed,” said J&J Worldwide Services CEO & President Steve Kelley. “We look forward to building a strong partnership with ATAMMC in support of the National Capital Region Medical Directorate.”

In conjunction with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, ATAMMC provides the Military Health System with medical capabilities of the National Capital Region Medical Directorate, a joint unit providing comprehensive care to members of the U.S. Armed Forces located in the capital area, and their families.

J&J has been providing O&M services at Walter Reed since 2017.

With the award of ATAMMC, J&J will expand its Healthcare Medical Solutions in the region to support the newly renamed hospital in honor Lt. Col. Alexander Thomas Augusta, the highest-ranking Black officer in the Union Army, the first Black professor of medicine at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and the first Black officer to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
