Amyx Chief Operating Officer John Selman is retiring after 30 years as a GovCon executive and consultant.

Since 2021, Selman has led over 600 IT, cybersecurity, program management and acquisition professionals at Amyx. His recognitions include being named a WashingtonExec 2023 National Security Executive to Watch and a 2018 Pinnacle Awards Finalist for Intelligence Executive of the Year.

Amyx President and CEO William Schaefer noted that from his first day at Amyx, Selman showcased the qualities that contributed to his 30-year career success: a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a focus on employee development.

“He brought an energy to those areas for which I’ll always be grateful as it has really helped us launch some important initiatives here such as the Amyx Career Enhancement program as well as expanding our Centers of Excellence in areas such as AI/ML,” Schaefer said. “His leadership has also enabled us to achieve top customer service ratings and CPARS from our clients over the past three years.”

Over 30 years, Selman significantly influenced IT, logistics and analytics, leading to more than $2 billion in contracts with over 30 federal and defense agencies.

“John has led high performing teams helping to achieve consecutive year-after-year Top Workplace awards and expanding into new agencies,” Schaefer said. “On behalf of all of us at Amyx, I want to pass along my sincere gratitude to John for his commitment to making Amyx one of the best companies in the industry. We wish John and his family the very best as he transitions into the next exciting phase of his life.”
