Rob Smith’s major recent success was securing companywide support for the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging program and initiatives. These efforts included forming the Environmental, Social, Governance/DEIB Council and establishing five active employee resource networks in 15 months, now with over 1,000 members.
Additionally, these efforts include driving a high-performing culture by hosting bimonthly dialogues to create a psychologically safe workplace, involving employees worldwide in these in-person or virtual sessions.
“The leadership Rob provides to support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging transcends program development and quotas of representation,” said Patricia Munchel, Amentum executive vice president and chief people officer. “His influence goes beyond Amentum’s transformational culture to embrace the advantages of collegial respect, personal growth, engaging connections, and diversity of thought, backgrounds and experiences.”

In 2024, Smith’s team will actively work to increase employee engagement worldwide and maintain the company’s status as an excellent place to work. They will continue growing employee resource network communities to bring a close-knit feel to the large organization. Additionally, the team will step up outreach efforts to enhance Amentum’s global recognition, attracting top talent to join their ranks.
