Laila Salguero
Chief DEI Officer, Peraton
Last year, Laila Salguero and her team set out to further integrate DEI into the fabric of the business. As a result of their efforts, Peraton was recently recognized in a series of accolades for fostering an inclusive business environment, including the Labor Department’s 2023 HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award, the Washington Business Journal’s LGBTQ+ Business and Corporate Diversity Index Awards, and top-scorer in the Disability Equity Index.
“It has been nothing short of remarkable witnessing what Laila and her team have accomplished over the past year in support of our aggressive growth, talent attraction, engagement and employee retention objectives,” said Rebecca McHale, Peraton chief human resources officer. “The DEI fingerprints are evident across the business.”
Why Watch
In 2024, Peraton aims to improve business results, grow its talent pool, support small businesses, and develop a culture where employees can advance their careers. The company will use its ERGs to attract and retain diverse talent, especially from veteran and underrepresented communities, ensuring DE&I remains a key factor in its business success.
“Inclusion is the bedrock of innovation,” Salguero said. “To embrace our unique perspectives, backgrounds and experiences is not a choice; it’s a necessity for success that will help establish the path for a brighter, more inclusive future – for Peraton, our customers and the nation.”
