The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 25, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 16.
Next is Rick Lisa, general manager of the Government Center of Excellence for Intel Corp., and finalist in the Supply Chain Executive of the Year, Private & Public Companies category. Here, he shares career turning points and primary focus areas going forward.
What was a turning point or inflection point in your career?
I began my career at Motorola, a company that invested in its young employees and encouraged us to recognize our strengths, potential, and opportunities for growth and learning. The organization emphasized coaching and mentoring and was passionate about the success of the individual and in turn, the success of the company.
Without the opportunities presented to me during my time at Motorola, I would not have learned many of the life and business lessons that have allowed me to thrive in the semiconductor industry for over 43 years.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the future of the nation?
I firmly believe that technology stands as a pivotal tool for federal agencies, capable of reshaping the foundations of governmental operations. By harnessing emerging technologies to their fullest extent, agencies can transcend their current limitations and become more adept, competitive, and responsive to the needs of their constituents.
This transformation can equip agencies to be more capable and competitive in the depth, intimacy, and timeliness of the services they provide to their constituents and is paramount in ensuring a thriving nation.
Intel is uniquely positioned to assist governments on a global scale. Through strategic collaboration, we can not only enhance the efficiency of governmental operations but also foster sustainability, environmental stewardship, and ecological awareness for our generation and the next.
It is our collective responsibility not merely to manufacture cutting-edge semiconductor products, but also to marshal the rich ecosystem that they enable by improving the lives of every person, the prospects of every business, the governments that serve them and their mission outcomes.
