Clay Goldwein’s team is leading a project to digitalize records for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, aiming to make the immigration claim process faster, more secure and fully online, thereby reducing wait times and backlogs.
Goldwein has already led CGI to win recognition for this type of work. The company shared the USCIS Director’s Award for Ingenuity and Innovation in 2023 for an agile solution supporting digital transformation of Special Immigrant Visas. The award noted CGI’s commitment to deliver improved cybersecurity at the USCIS.
Goldwein’s team helps secure the government’s IT infrastructure and align cybersecurity efforts across various cloud vendors at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency. In 2023, his unit also deepened its work with the judicial branch, improving operations and financial management for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts to improve transparency and efficiency
Additionally, he spearheaded the launch of the Sunflower Asset Management Cloud, a FedRAMP-approved service, aiming to enhance national IT security and reduce the cost of safeguarding assets.

In the year ahead, Goldwein plans to step up the emphasis on modernization initiatives to advance government missions. He intends to improve agility by advancing client use of intelligent automation, machine learning and generative artificial intelligence. Goldwein recognizes AI capabilities are advancing rapidly, which has the twin effect of making threats more dangerous and defense capabilities more robust — something he intends to ensure clients understand and are ready for.
Building on CGI’s business consulting capabilities, Goldwein is also focused on leveraging business consulting to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with CGI clients, working with them as they plan, execute and manage modernization initiatives.
