    Top HR Execs to Watch in 2023

    Since joining Maximus in 2016, Norman Iracheta has seen the company’s rapid growth firsthand in the human resources department.

    In recent years, the federal business has been bolstered by a series of big contract wins and acquisitions. Both of which necessitate leaders like Iracheta to integrate new employees and bring teams together.

    “For a recent business we acquired, I traveled to the headquarters and met with leadership there about bringing them into the broader organization that is Maximus,” said Iracheta. “It took about three months, but this travel and integration was key to a stabilized environment. It is very rewarding to see how human resources demonstrate strategic value with leaders and employees.”

    Why Watch

    In 2023, Iracheta said his team is heavily focused on the employee experience by ensuring they listen to what individuals were telling them. The company completed several employee surveys, and as Iracheta described, “celebrated the positives” while identifying opportunities for improvement.

    “Another great initiative we undertook was go on an employee roadshow,” he said. “Speaking with employees face to face was both exciting and enlightening and I firmly advise any HR Executive to do this at least once a year.”

    As Maximus continues to grow and expand its capabilities, Iracheta said he’s told his team to be ready for what comes next.

    “I’ve always said to my team that I don’t want them to be great at their current role, I want them to be good as if they were already in a higher level,” he said. “Why? Because our employees deserve the best from us and they themselves should strive to be their best selves. This approach can be rewarding on both a personal level and career-wise.”
