    Ethan Meurlin, Octo

    Ethan Meurlin

Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Partnerships, Octo

Ethan Meurlin’s biggest achievement is his contribution to the rapid growth of Octo, culminating in its acquisition by IBM in late 2022. During his tenure at Octo, Meurlin built and developed its award-winning Marketing department that successfully integrated four acquired brands, executed the firm’s first complete rebrand in 2021, launched seven new branded solution offerings, developed 60+ partnerships, and in 2022 launched oLabs, Octo’s emerging technology R&D facility focused on client collaboration and co-creation.

In his decade at Octo, Meurlin also built Octo’s Proposal and Capture Operations function and overhauled the company’s internal communications program, adding multiple communications channels and increasing substantially Octo’s employee engagement, all while maintaining exceptional employee retention rates.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to play a role in building what I really believe is one of the most innovative companies in GovCon,” Meurlin said. “We have always focused on putting collaboration with our clients first, worked hard toward their success, and had a lot of fun along the way.”

    Why Watch

Following Octo’s acquisition by IBM, Meurlin and his team are focused on infusing into IBM’s federal government marketing efforts the brand recognition and innovation he brought to Octo.

“Ethan has been an amazing leader for a decade at Octo,” offered Mehul Sanghani, Octo’s CEO. “He is a pleasure to work with and is someone whose diligence, creativity, and ability to build high-performing, employee-focused teams have been key to his, and our brand’s, remarkable success. I expect even more success for him in the future.”
