Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Akima

Joe Pendry’s top priority is enhancing Akima’s brand awareness and reputation in the market. To achieve this, he built a dynamic communications, marketing and stakeholder relations team to execute impactful programs that align with his overall strategic vision.

Pendry and his team have proven particularly adept at executing high-impact digital and social media campaigns that drive brand expansion and engagement with target audiences.

“The past few years have clearly demonstrated the importance of engaging digital content, and we have been thrilled with how well our programs have performed,” he said. “While in-person events and meetings are once again an important marketing tactic, the value of telling a compelling story through digital channels remains paramount.”

Looking ahead, Pendry is excited to continue building Akima’s brand with key audiences and geographies through strategic partnerships. His strategy is derived from strong relationships with Akima’s executive and operational leadership and is prioritized to support the company’s growth strategy.

    Why Watch

Pendry is particularly optimistic about his team’s success in recruitment marketing. Akima has developed impactful programs that target the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to onboarding to ongoing engagement. These efforts include highly targeted content, events and communications to educate employees about Akima’s work, mission and heritage.

“We’ve worked with our human resources team to better see the world from the perspective of potential and existing employees,” he said. “This has helped us create messages and content that are both useful and informative, while better equipping our most effective brand ambassadors.”
