    John Karabias, Jacobs

    John Karabias

Vice President of Strategy, Divergent Solutions, Jacobs

John Karabias’ biggest recent achievement was developing the strategy for Jacobs’ new digital and cybersecurity business, Divergent Solutions, which came to market in 2022. This included delivery of advanced analytics, including various AI techniques such as machine learning and deep neural nets, which were central to the company’s growth in 2022. It delivered AI-based solutions in core markets including national security, water and transportation that proactively improved operations and reduced costs for clients.

    Why Watch

Karabias and his team are heavily focused on working with their technology ecosystem partners to deliver secure and trusted large language model functionality to improve client outcomes. Every day, they are identifying new use cases that use LLMs to suggest, refine and stimulate novel thinking to tackle hard business problems. In 2023, the team is continuing to experiment with methods for standardizing LLMs into business workflows, including the aviation sector where Karabias will lead a new digital growth initiative for Jacobs.

In his role, Karabias provides for amplified alignment between the business’ innovation efforts, its strategic alliances and the company strategy, said Shannon Miller, executive vice president and president of Jacobs Divergent Solutions.

“John’s work is instrumental to our success in serving our clients and delivering cutting-edge digital solutions and cyber technology,” she added. “His leadership is key to the planning and developing of a clear path forward for partnerships and revenue generating opportunities for our business.”
