Paul Smith, former senior vice president and North American public sector general manager at Red Hat, has joined Rancher Government Solutions as acting CEO.

The company’s current CEO Lynne Chamberlain is retiring. She first joined RGS in November 2020 and oversaw the company obtaining its facility security clearance.

“I am proud of what we have achieved for our customers during my tenure as CEO,” she said. “After three successful years it is time to pass on the company to the future leadership team. I wish them all the very best.”

Smith brings extensive experience working in the government sector following 17 years at Red Hat and a few years as a strategic advisor to technology companies like Software AG Government Solutions and Amida Technology Solutions.

As RGS’ acting CEO, he will provide guidance to the leadership team as the company enters its new phase of growth.

“I would like to thank the Proxy Board for the opportunity to join RGS as its Acting CEO,” Smith said. “I admire the organization and I am looking forward to working with the leadership team and all the great employees in the company to drive the business forward and serve our customers to the best of our ability ⏤ I am excited to see what we can achieve.”

Dale Meyerrose, chair of the proxy board, said the board is looking forward to the company’s future success amid these changes.

“On behalf of the Proxy Board I would like to thank Lynne for her leadership of RGS as she has strengthened the RGS brand and laid the foundations for us to pursue further growth opportunities in the coming years,” Meyerrose said. “We wish her all the best for her future endeavors. The Board is confident that Paul’s track record and expertise within the Government sector will make him an excellent leader to steer RGS as it embarks on the next phase of growth. We are delighted to have him join the leadership team and look forward to RGS’s future successes.”
