In this episode of “Humble Beginnings,” Stephanie Mango, president of CGI Federal, takes us through her journey as a DMV native and daughter of two hardworking parents as she navigates changing academic interests, uncertainties and pivots. From math to accounting to IT, she found her specialty thanks to mentors, a trusted professor, a willingness to try new things and a healthy dose of stubbornness.

Amid her winding path to leadership, Mango shares how a short-time move to California fulfilled personal aspirations, and how she got “unstuck” by raising her hand for new opportunities and a chance to grow. Plus, hear how she overcame a not-so-supportive boss and internal pressures of not quite “looking the part” of a typical C-suite executive.
