    Combiz R. Abdolrahimi

Global Emerging Technology & Innovation Leader, Deloitte

After serving in the government, where he was a national security lawyer, policymaker and chief innovation officer, advising presidents and CEOs on technology and innovation, and now in the private sector at Deloitte, Combiz Abdolrahimi knows better than most how technology and public-private collaboration can accelerate decarbonization and drive forward substantive action in the race against climate change.

As a leading innovator, he hasn’t just spearheaded the development of robust, technology-based solutions for climate action; he has also made substantial contributions to legislation, policymaking and regulations that enable the development and deployment of these climate-friendly technologies.

    Why Watch

In 2023, Abdolrahimi is aiming to accelerate decarbonization efforts through technology collaboration on a global scale. He actively contributes to implementing effective climate policies and holds influential positions in global platforms and regional initiatives. His work has reshaped the climate conversation and earned him an invitation to participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai.

“In this fight against climate change, innovation and legislation are our most potent weapons,” he said. “By synchronizing technology advancements with robust policymaking and by bridging the gap between innovation and regulation, we’re catalyzing a crucial paradigm shift. We’re moving from passive acceptance to active involvement, transforming climate threats into opportunities for sustainable, inclusive growth. Our goal is clear: to protect our people and our planet for future generations.”
