    Marian Van Pelt

Senior Vice President, Climate Energy & Transportation, ICF

Marian Van Pelt’s biggest recent achievement was helping clients achieve their climate goals at this incredible moment for climate action.

Her team combines innovation with a dual approach: advancing longstanding climate and energy initiatives like the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program, and undertaking new endeavors such as supporting the Energy Department in financing the world’s largest clean hydrogen storage facility.

“ICF has some of the world’s best science and technical expertise across the most important climate topics in the industry,” said Anne Choate, ICF executive vice president for energy, environment and infrastructure.

“Marian has a natural ability to navigate strategies and analytics as well as behavioral change and stakeholder engagement, from program design through implementation. It’s rare in our industry to find bona fide technical experts who can apply that expertise to achieve desired outcomes at scale.”

    Why Watch

In 2023, Van Pelt’s team is heavily focused on bringing advanced technology to solve climate challenges. In many cases, the sheer volume of climate change data can be overwhelming. Clients rely on ICF’s technology platforms to access climate data, analyze risks, explore options and take decisive action.

“I’m humbled to be leading a team of dedicated climate, energy and transportation professionals who come to ICF to design and deliver innovative solutions to solve today’s greatest challenges,” Van Pelt said. “Nothing makes me happier than to see our work making a real impact, through helping our clients drive aggressive climate action.”

“There’s more work to be done, and there’s nowhere I’d rather be doing it than with the team that brings their dedication and passion for solving climate and energy solutions here at ICF.”
