The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 17, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.
Next is Chief Financial Officer, Private Company: Annual Revenue >$100M finalist Robert Richards, BlueHalo CFO. Here, he shares stories of successes, focus areas and key initiatives.
The early days of forming BlueHalo were filled with some of my most challenging but rewarding career moments. As Chief Financial Officer, I helped close eight acquisitions within my first 13 months in the organization.
Last July, we completed the integration of 11 companies into a single Enterprise Resource Planning environment–enabling efficient, consistent standards and procedures for all employees and business units.
My team and I have led the creation of new back-office functions across Finance, Accounting, Contracts, Procurement, and IT from what were 11 individual entities.
For the CFO organization, these first few years have been filled with acquisition, integration, and standardization. For 2023, we are focused on excellence through our processes to ensure quality, compliance, and employee experience.
That is why, with support from my fellow executive leadership team members, I have launched the CFO Excellence Award–recognizing individuals and teams for outstanding accomplishments that exemplify BlueHalo’s values and focus on excellence for our programs, customers, and employees.
