The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 17, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.

Next is Chief Growth Officer finalist in the Private Company: >$500M category Joe Cubba, CGO of ManTech. Here, he talks key achievements, success in his current role and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2022/2023?

Contributing to record bookings and growth (both current and new customer wins) in 2022, which was instrumental to the acquisition by and transition of company ownership to the Carlyle Group in September 2022.

In the months leading up to the close, ManTech’s strong performance was achieved through revenue growth and driven by a combination of organic expansion from contract awards, acquisitions and the evolution of a leading portfolio of advanced technology solutions.

What has made you successful in your current role?

Fostering a culture of innovation, performance and a preference for action ⏤ which is critical to advancing national cyber capabilities and digital and systems modernization across the federal government.

By integrating technology investments with customer priorities and mission objectives I’ve helped ignite an unmatched innovation engine. We’re elevating critical customer needs and customizing deliverables to meet our customers’ challenges which has led to a mission-focused, mission-ready workforce where employees evolve, evaluate and adapt emerging technologies from initial concept through to the delivery of new capabilities.

What are you most proud of having been a part of in your current organization?

Having spent most of my adult life serving our country in uniform, both on active duty and reserves, I’m proud to the part of the fact that nearly 50% of ManTech’s almost 10,000 employees are veterans. I’m also proud of the fact that ManTech is a national security firm at its core and everyone is focused on supporting our warfighter.

Our steadfast commitment to the military has led to ManTech being ranked #1 for Veterans by Monster.com; #2 among the Top 25 Veteran Employers in 2022 by Military.com; ranked Gold in 2022 by HIREVets Medallion large company category; and Gold as Military Friendly for 2023 in the Defense & Security category.
