The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 17, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.

Next is Chief Growth Officer, Private Company: >$100M & <500M finalist James Batt, CGO of BlueHalo. Here, he shares stories of successes, achievements and focus areas.

2022 was a record year for BlueHalo across Space, c-UAS, Autonomous Systems, and Cyber domains.

These wins were in part due to hypergrowth strategies we developed, focusing all business development and capture efforts on meeting targeted mission-critical needs and challenges to national security and defense. Combining BlueHalo’s breadth of innovative capabilities and products to target opportunities for transformation has led the company to year-over-year double-digit growth and major new contract awards.

Arguably our primary key to success has been the “People First, Mission Always” creed by which we operate every day.

It’s easy to put ‘People First’ at BlueHalo because our entire executive leadership team and all stakeholders share this same vision. I see my role not only as a leader for our growth operation but as a listener, supporter, encourager, and driver of excellence and innovation across the company. By taking care of our people, we can better care of our customers.

Mission Always: Much in the same way we are listening and supporting our employees, we are always listening to customers, military officials, and frontline warfighters to identify the needs and better understand how BlueHalo can help answer the call to protect our Nation and friends around the globe.

I see these “People First, Mission Always” values exhibited daily across our employees, teams, and business units, enabling BlueHalo’s success. Every member of HaloNation is focused on the warfighter, focused on delivering innovative capabilities, and focused on the mission. We take pride in innovation and in solving the hardest mission challenges. I am honored to know and to serve our incredibly talented team.

In 2023, BlueHalo will continue to invest in our people and in innovative technologies that solve the most critical challenges for our customers. This is truly an exciting time to be a part of such a high-performing team at every level–from our backers at Arlington Capital Partners to our executive leadership team to the nearly 1,400 members of HaloNation.
