Daniel Pellegrom
Director, ESG & Corporate Responsibility, Leidos
Daniel Pellegrom attributes Leidos’ recent successes in ESG to his exceptional team who welcomed him with open arms when he joined less than a year ago. He is proud of their collective achievements, which he believes exemplify Leidos’ values.
First, he notes there’s great work taking place throughout the company, but his team members can help connect the dots so they are more strategic, make a bigger impact and have a clearer story.
This is a work in progress, but Pellegrom is optimistic about how they are working to connect Leidos’ legacy corporate responsibility work to bigger ESG themes.
The team recently released a recap of recent work with the Milken Institute about how Leidos has brought different companies together to collaborate on addressing the opioid crisis and mental health challenges.
“I have been incredibly inspired by the commitment of Leidos employees to the communities where they live and work,” Pellegrom said.
In 2021, they ran a small contest that launched on Giving Tuesday to incentivize people to log their hours more consistently.
“We had great participation, and seeing how people are committed to bettering the community was really inspiring,” he said.
Why Watch
In 2023, Pellegrom and his team aim to further their support for environmental causes. Leidos has a history of successful customer work in this area and has already reduced GHG emissions by 58% from 2010-2020, achieving a legacy goal. The company is now working toward its new environmental goals and wants to leverage the strength of its employees to make a greater impact in the community.
Pellegrom and his team are also focused on new regulatory requirements and reporting expectations. They are carefully monitoring changes to the FAR, potential SEC regulations and regulations in the U.K. to see how they may need to adjust and adapt how they report on some climate efforts.
