    Steffanie Easter, CAES

    Steffanie Easter

Senior Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, CAES

Steffanie Easter joined CAES in 2022 as the company’s first-ever chief sustainability officer. In this role, she benchmarked the company’s current environmental, social and governance practices and works to create processes and procedures to create a sustainability program.

Easter’s most recent achievement was establishing the CAES Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. The committee worked quickly to introduce the first Employee Resource Group at CAES – CAESVets. CAESVets’ goal is to advocate for all veterans and is open to all CAES employees interested in veterans’ activities. The group has held virtual networking and informational events and is planning a Memorial Day activity.

Easter is actively working with the DEI Committee to establish DEI policies and introduce more ERGs throughout the company. She has also worked with company executives to introduce new volunteerism programs like CAES Cares and a partnership with Homes For Our Troops.

    Why Watch

Easter’s plans for 2023 include launching a women’s ERG and improving the company’s energy efficiency by assessing and reducing its carbon footprint and energy use.

She is also working with the company’s environmental health and safety teams to minimize the impact of business operations on the planet by developing baseline metrics for CAES, which will strive to improve going forward, as well as addressing occupational health and safety concerns.

“ESG is not ‘one size fit all,’ so I am working to ensure our approach meets the specific needs of CAES,” she said. “Ideally, I would like to see ESG and Sustainability become so integrated into the way we do business that we no longer think of it as an effort, rather how CAES operates.”
