Beth Meagher
Principal & Federal Health Sector Leader, US Government & Public Services, Deloitte
Beth Meagher’s biggest recent achievement is the leadership team she has assembled. “They are diverse in every way, which is a huge component facilitating our ability to make an impact,” she said.
The team convenes cross-industry experts to solution ways to reduce suicide in the veteran community, supports the government’s ability to speed biomedical research and creates access to vaccines in underrepresented communities.
“A restless energy exists to advance the conversation and impact on the future of public health ⏤ and we’ve never been more prepared to tackle big issues,” Meagher said.
Why Watch
In 2023, Meagher and her team are heavily focused on transforming health for this generation and beyond. They are creating greater access for all through advancements in health equity; developing standards around data that support advances in research; and driving change around mental health issues.
They are advisers and that means putting clients’ needs first and being vulnerable on the roadblocks they face in pursuit of improving access to care, catalyzing health innovations and preparing for future public health needs.
“In a memorable session between Brené Brown and Scott Sonenshein, they talked about how we can no longer lead the way we did pre-pandemic,” Meagher said. “Scott said: ‘The world is always changing…You have to change or get out of the way. This is the big reset, and that’s where the hope and opportunity live.’ We are experiencing a reset where the values, motivation, priorities, etc., vary and we need to change or get out of the way. I’m a fan of change and the evolution of progress, so Scott’s words really resonated with me.”
