John Ustica
President & CEO, Siemens Government Technologies
John Ustica and his team at SGT made significant strides in 2022 that positioned them well for continued success in 2023. With the rapid demand for cloud-delivered software and technologies across government, the SGT team introduced the Siemens Defense Cloud, a FedRAMP-ready software-as-a-service application suite featuring Siemens Teamcenter X software. It’s available to any government agency for review and implementation.
Equally important, Ustica guided his team on new opportunities to serve customers using Siemens’ expertise in energy efficiency, automation, security and safety systems on contract vehicles like the Electronic Security Systems VII IDIQ contract for the Army Corps of Engineers.
A strong supporter of developing talent from within, Ustica identified key leaders for expanded roles including Katy Nierman, chief financial officer; Greg Bowman, chief strategy officer, Rebecca Hannahs; vice president of people and organization; and Paul Rimbey, director of IT.
Why Watch
In 2023 Ustica and his team will continue to leverage the Siemens Xcelerator open digital business platform. It features a curated portfolio of IoT-connected hardware and software, and tailored solutions for government customers wherever they may be on their digital transformation journeys.
In addition, expect the SGT team to focus on resilient and efficient energy technologies as the Defense Department and other agencies modernize their infrastructure with smart building tools and reliable power solutions that maximize renewable and sustainable energy sources.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked my entire career for Siemens across a variety of roles and responsibilities, and I’m honored to lead our SGT team today on such a diverse portfolio of work from energy and automation to digital transformation initiatives for our customers,” Ustica said. “It’s truly humbling to serve our customers on their projects and missions of national consequence.”
