    Jylinda Johnson

Sector Vice President & General Manager, Government Operations, Commerce and Global Citizen Service, GDIT

Jylinda Johnson leads the Government Operations, Commerce and Global Citizen Services Sector, a $500 million portfolio within GDIT’s Federal Civilian Division.

“Throughout this past year in her new role, Jylinda has deftly steered her team to achieve strong growth by leading in a way that is both purpose-driven and mission-focused,” said Paul Nedzbala, GDIT senior vice president for the federal civilian division. “She has prioritized staying tightly aligned to Federal Civilian Agencies’ current and upcoming needs, delivering high-quality, on-time, on-cost performance for clients, and is shaping the future of government for the better.”

In her first full year at the helm, Johnson led the sector to achieve double-digit growth by staying sharply focused on increasing strategic partnerships with federal civilian agency leaders and driving innovation, thought leadership and service delivery excellence to the forefront.

“We have the great privilege of playing a vital role in the modernization of legacy systems and the advancement of missions that impact everyday people, such as students, farmers, small business owners, lower-income families, inventors, volunteers and refugees in search of a better life,” she said. “The work we do matters, and I deeply admire the passion and dedication with which we perform and serve. “

Some of the highlights include partnering with the Education Department to modernize the Federal Student Aid processing system, helping the government adopt an agencywide zero trust architecture and collaborating with the Patent and Trademark Office to speed up digital modernization initiatives and cloud adoption.

    Why Watch

Johnson and her team are dedicated to creating an empowering culture at every level in 2023. They aim to encourage the company’s people to drive positive change, seek growth opportunities, uphold accountability and support each other’s success. This people-focused approach has enabled the company to innovate and better serve its customers’ changing needs.

In 2023, Johnson said they’ll lean in further with agency executives on digital modernization, cloud enablement, cyber vigilance, 5G, data center consolidation and next-generation technology evolution.

“This is an exciting time to be a part of GDIT,” she said. “The focus on our people-driven culture, commitment to operational excellence, and a collaborate-to-innovate mindset extends throughout our organization, and this combination is transformational in both our approach and impact for the mission of our customers.”
