    Jim Gallagher, Arcfield

    Jim Gallagher

    Chief Legal Officer, Arcfield

When facing the task of standing up an entire legal department in just two months — including contracts and ethics and compliance functions — most people would pause at this tall order. But for Jim Gallagher, that’s the kind of challenge he was well prepared for — and that’s exactly what he and his team did after joining the startup last November.

In less than 60 days, Gallagher had an expert senior leadership team identified and a fully functional legal department stood up to support the highly regulated, classified business through its exciting first year of growth.

Gallagher is no stranger to tight deadlines and business divestments and company launches. He’s been an integral part of the creation of Perspecta in 2018 and the company’s subsequent sale to Peraton in 2021, which primed him well for his current role. He brings over 27 years’ legal experience to Arcfield, having been involved in or led every facet of legal activity including managing mergers, acquisitions and sales; overseeing integrations; handling litigation, disputes and crises; and managing intellectual property and trademarking.

“I chose a leadership role at Arcfield because I knew firsthand the important role that our employees play in supporting the most critical national security missions,” he said. “I knew that this business platform would provide the opportunity to work on leading-edge legal and contract issues, and I was excited for the work ahead.”

    Why Watch

With the company’s sights set on aggressive growth goals, Gallagher and his team will be vital in ensuring continued regulatory compliance and supporting legal and contract expansion as Arcfield grows organically and expands its footprint through acquisitions.
