    Eric Velte

    CTO, ASRC Federal

This year, Eric Velte took on an enterprisewide realignment of the technology and capability teams that support ASRC Federal’s federal customers.  This change reflected the critical role technology and skilled capability teams play in ASRC Federal’s customer-centric operating model.

In partnership with senior leadership, Velte defined success but also identified and addressed crux issues that could impede progress. This effort resulted in three centers of excellence developed around core ASRC Federal competencies such as software, IT modernization and engineering that centralize staffing resources and support over 23 key programs.

In addition to serving as a matrixed staffing capability for SMEs, these agile centers provide surge staff to meet new customer requirements without traditional hiring delays. They also promote employee career development and promote new technology uptake across customers.

Additionally, in June, Velte launched an internal tech summit that brought together technologists from across the company for training, technology briefings, use cases and success stories. Team members shared novel ideas, had access to senior leadership and aligned to company goals.

“Eric’s team offers cutting-edge technology capabilities, solutions and expertise to our entire customer base while also sharing deep technical knowledge in a way that is benefitting our customers and supporting employee and company growth,” said ASRC Federal President and CEO Jennifer Felix.

    Why Watch

Looking into 2023, Velte is focused on continuing to build a world-class talent pool for the various programs his team supports. He is imparting a mindful and methodical process, ensuring the team’s development and growth are always at the forefront. He is focused on providing a comprehensive employee experience: a harmony between the right people, technology, training, certifications and hybrid work environment.

Modern tech employees want a mission they can believe in, the flexibility to support it in balance with personal obligations, and a healthy pool of challenges to keep life interesting. Velte both understands and advocates for this optimal employee experience.
