    Maurine Fanguy, Accenture Federal Services

    Maurine Fanguy

Managing Director & DHS lead, Accenture Federal Services

One of Maurine Fanguy’s biggest achievements in 2021 was winning the Transportation Security Administration’s Big Credentialing contract — which proved to be a full-circle moment for the managing director at Accenture Federal Services.

Winning that contract reconnected Fanguy with her start in homeland security when she worked at TSA to launch the Transportation Worker Identification Credential maritime security program, she said.

“At the time, our vision was to one day unify all credentialing programs under a single umbrella to provide a better experience to applicants and to enable more efficient security processes,” Fanguy said. “I am proud that our Big Credentialing team will allow TSA to fully realize that vision.”

Under the 7-year, $199 million Big Credentialing contract, Accenture Federal Services will help TSA operate and consolidate three credentialing systems into a single platform to improve how the agency responds to threats and changing operational needs. TSA relies on the three credentialing systems to deliver credentials to about 30 million transportation workers, airline crews, hazmat drivers and others.

    Why Watch

This year, Fanguy’s team is focused on practical innovation.

“Homeland Security agencies are facing a wide array of novel challenges and they need practical innovations — those that can be deployed immediately to achieve the mission, with iterative enhancements driven by real-world feedback from the field,” she said.

Ron Ash, managing director at Accenture Federal Services and safety and citizen services portfolio lead, agreed and said Fanguy is the perfect person to help lead this work after spending most of her career working at, or in support of, DHS.

“Maurine brings the perfect mix of expertise both at homeland security and industry to provide an end-to-end approach to technology and how it can continue to transform processes at DHS,” he said. “I am excited to see her get this much-deserved recognition for a job well done.”
