    Melissa Dueñas, Leidos

    Melissa Dueñas

Senior Vice President, Chief Communications & Marketing Officer, Leidos

Increasing brand recognition and overall reputation in the GovCon market is Melissa Dueñas’ focus every day at Leidos. She oversees global marketing and communications strategies focusing on business growth, customer retention and employee and community engagement.

In 2021, Dueñas oversaw the launch of Leidos’ million-dollar campaign, “Move the Needle” Sweepstakes, designed to encourage Leidos employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The campaign was an important moment in the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and led to Leidos being recognized as a COVID-19 Response Leader by the Washington Business Journal.

Additionally, Dueñas and her team continue to lead the company’s main philanthropic campaign “Mission for the Mind,” which addresses substance misuse and mental health challenges like anxiety, depression and suicide.

“Melissa exemplifies leadership and is well respected across our entire organization,” said Roger Krone, Leidos chairman and CEO. “She’s adept at handling complex issues, a masterful communicator and a key part of our ongoing growth and success at Leidos.”

    Why Watch

Dueñas is excited to continue building Leidos’ brand through a strategic brand growth strategy that will bring new collaborations with a diverse group of partners. In February, her team announced a new sponsorship deal with NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace aimed at advancing a culture of inclusion and diversity.

“I am surrounded by talented, energetic people and we are always learning and growing,” Dueñas said. “We see our purpose as creating a platform that connects our people, customers and partners to effect positive change and make the world safer, healthier and more efficient.”
